Privacy Policy

StudyLens AI is an Android application published by Secure Tech Consultancy (Pvt) Ltd, Islamabad, Pakistan ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app and its server collect, why, who else sees it, how long we keep it, and how to have it removed.
It describes what the software actually does today. Where something is kept longer than you might expect, or sent to a company other than us, it says so plainly rather than leaving you to assume otherwise.

What we collect
Your account
Your name, email address and a one-way hash of your password — we never store the password itself. Also the account type you chose (student or parent), your time zone and language, whether your email is verified, and whether you have turned on the emailed sign-in code.
The material you add
The files you upload (PDFs, photographs and scans), the notes you type or paste, and the web addresses you save. The server opens each one and stores the text it extracts, because everything the app makes is made from that text. Files are held on our own servers.
What you do with it
Your study activity: flashcards you review and how you rated them, quiz attempts and scores, reading time you spend in the app, study blocks you plan, exams you add, and the progress and streak worked out from all of it. Conversations you have with Flow about a document are stored with that document so the thread is there when you come back.
Technical records
Sign-ins and other significant account actions are written to an audit record together with the IP address they came from, which is how we investigate a compromised account. If you turn on notifications, we hold the push token your device is issued. Each device holding a session is recorded so you can see where you are signed in.
Payments
If you buy a subscription, the purchase is made through Google Play, not through us. We receive and store a receipt identifier so we can confirm your subscription with Google and know what your account is entitled to. We never see or store your card details.
What we do not collect
We do not use advertising, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell personal information. The site you are reading sets no cookies and runs no analytics.

Who else sees it
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising. It reaches these companies only because the product cannot work otherwise:
OpenAI
The text of the material you add is sent to OpenAI to produce your summaries, flashcards, quiz questions and Flow answers. That is the core of what the app does. Your name and email address are not sent with it. If you would rather a document were never sent to a third party, do not add it to StudyLens AI.
Cloudflare
Creating an account and requesting a password reset are protected by a bot check provided by Cloudflare, which sees your IP address in order to decide whether you are a person.
Subscriptions are sold and processed by Google Play. We confirm each purchase with Google's servers. If notifications are enabled, delivery is handled by Firebase Cloud Messaging.
Email delivery
Verification codes, password reset links and account emails are sent through an email provider, which handles your address in order to deliver the message.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
Where it is held
Our servers are operated by Secure Tech Consultancy (Pvt) Ltd. The companies named above process data in other countries, including the United States, so using StudyLens AI means your material is transferred outside your own country.
How long we keep it
While your account is open, we keep your material and your study record so the app can show them to you.
When you close your account, we immediately disable sign-in and end every session. Your uploaded material, its extracted text and your study record are removed within 30 days of the request. Audit records of significant account actions are kept for up to 12 months after that, because they exist precisely to investigate what happened to an account; they hold the action, the time and the IP address, not your documents.

Your rights
Write to [email protected] from the address on your account and you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of what we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your account and its material;
- tell you exactly what has been shared and with whom.
We answer within 30 days.
Children
StudyLens AI is meant for students of secondary-school age and above. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, write to [email protected] and we will remove it.
Security
Passwords are stored only as a one-way hash. Traffic between the app and our servers uses HTTPS. Sessions can be ended from your account's device list, and an emailed sign-in code can be switched on for an extra step. No system is perfect, and we do not claim otherwise.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or who sees it, we will change the date at the top and, where the change is significant, tell you in the app or by email.
